How to Use Spiritual Principles from Disney to Create Your Own Happily Ever After…
A lot of adults, including many of my friends, really have something against Disney. They think they’re all about selling chotchkes and making money … I even had a conversation with a guy who said Disney is evil and their message is harmful to children, making them think that they can be princesses, everything will work out perfectly in the end; your prince charming is out there and you’ll live happily ever after.
Well, that’s exactly what I want my daughter Violet to grow up believing. Instead of the common limiting beliefs like, “life is never easy” or “no pain, no gain”, I want her to know what took me most of my life to discover:believe in fairy-tales, believe in magic, believe that anything that you want to create is possible and your prince charming is waiting, so never stop until you create that.
When I think back to my childhood, in Disney for me, there was a whispering of truth and magic that I felt and just couldn’t deny. The awe and wonderment at the ingenuity of a man who could not only have this vision, but actually manifest and create it, gave me hope and something to believe in.
Where I think things went awry for a lot of people, and what I’m going to be sure to teach my daughter is, realize that experiencing magic and living your dream life isn’t just going to happen to you, YOU have to create it. We are all the masters of our universe and every single person is capable of manifesting their dreams.
For most of my life I was in “victim” mode, thinking my life was just happening (and not going well). I had a traumatic childhood and don’t come from a perfect family or privileged background. I believed other people were happy and had wonderful lives because they were (fill in the blank) – beautiful, wealthy, from a good family, etc.
Well I’m here to tell you that’s a load of crap because, guess what? No one gets an easy ride. Nobody comes from “perfect” circumstances and there’s no one out there who hasn’t had stuff to overcome.
I’ve done a total 180 and there’s no way to deny it – I don’t just have good luck, I’ve figured out how to manifest and create my dream life in which I married my soul mate, we have a beautiful daughter; I’m living in my dream house in one of the most expensive zip codes in the country and have built a business that allows me to do what I love and make a huge impact on the world.
I wholeheartedly believe in magic and experience absolute miracles on a daily basis. Yes, miracles – things that defy all odds and there’s no way to rationalize without trusting that there’s something else bigger at play here. And the reason is BECAUSE I believe in magic, because I EXPECT miracles.
WHAT YOU BELIEVE IS WHAT YOU SEE.
I don’t believe it’s possible to manifest and create SUSTAINED, massive abundance without being aligned with source and the basic spiritual principle that good will always prevail and love is always the answer.
Everybody you see who is really successful, seems to have everything and are truly happy in their life are all practicing spiritual principles, knowingly or not. My belief is that we can all create our own dream life, sustain it, and live it every day. When people accumulate tons of money and power and are not aligned with spiritual principles, eventually it all come crashing down, or they’re miserable once they finally get what they thought they wanted.
To me, Disney movies depict people coming from a place of adversity and longing for better. They go through some sort of trial, and with courage and perseverance, they achieve their goals and realize their dream. Well, that happens in real life too, we’ve all seen it… but you have to do the work.
So let’s talk about that whole prince charming bit (Listen up ladies!): You absolutely can manifest your prince charming! Whatever that looks like for you, he does exist! And because every man has a prince charming inside of him, he may be closer than you think.
One of the things we’ve lost in our culture is the feminine art of inspiring our man to become his highest self and not standing for anything less. That happens if you require him to step up, shine a flashlight in the deepest, darkest cavern of his subconscious and his fears, slay the dragons of his inner angst and overcome all odds in order to be with you.
But remember, in order to require that your man be his highest self you have to be willing to do the same.
Okay, so yes Disney is notorious for cash-gobbling, but I still see and choose to believe in the good – the intention and the message that came through the channel of Walt Disney and the truth of the spiritual principles woven throughout those stories:
- Through your imagination, anything is possible
- Good always prevails in the end
- Love is the answer
- Yes, you do have a prince and he’s searching for you, too (or standing next to you right now)
- Having integrity and holding a pure intention, no matter what, is something we should all aspire to daily
- And, as Jiminy Cricket says, always let your conscious(ness) be your guide! (okay, I took a little creative license with that one but you get it, right?)
I walk around Disneyland as an adult still in wonder of every detail that was created in this magical land. In complete awe that a man had this vision of something that, at the time it was built, was bigger, bolder and more radical than anybody had dared to envision or create before in the entire world. And he did it! He created a land of magic and hope, and belief in something bigger than what’s common in the world, and THAT I will definitely pay $90.00 to get in to see!
I know this is a pretty controversial topic… I’d love to hear your thoughts below. 😉
In love and service,
