At The Sacred Oak Academy, we are not learning to become “Shamans”. In many circles, the word “Shaman” has become a metonym for all spiritual religious leaders and healers within indigenous cultures.

What we teach here at The Sacred Oak Academy is Universal Shamanism, through a lineage called Guided Energy Medicine™.
At its core essence, Universal Shamanism is about bringing light to the darkness. The word “Shaman” is a Siberian word that means “one who sees in the dark,” or “Spiritual Healer.”
Shamanism reconnects us back to our true nature, the natural world, and the Source of all Creation. It’s an initiation into the unseen world whereby we realign all parts of ourselves with Source.
Universal Shamanism is not owned by any culture, tradition or time. One could view Universal Shamanism as the unified spiritual wisdom inherent to all humans. As all ancient spiritual practices are rooted in connection to nature, shamanism is the method by which we return to the natural healing rhythms of creation. By extension we are bringing healing to ourselves, our communities and the planet.
Shamanism is not something to be studied and grasped through the mind – it is to Instead experience through direct revelation. And yes—that’s something all people are born to do. We all have shamanic gifts and abilities, and we all have shamanism in our ancestral lineages.

What Is Guided Energy Medicine™?
Guided Energy Medicine™ is a lineage of quantum transformational healing and spiritual counseling that harnesses a powerful frequency that we believe offers physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. This is an incredibly transformative path of awakening.
The shamanic energy work we practice works within the energy field that surrounds our body and holds the imprints, traumas, programing and conditioning of our past, and of our ancestral timelines. The Academy is an in-depth, sacred container meant to hold space for you to deepen into your shamanic practice, step into your healer-ship, and develop your God-given intuitive and shamanic abilities.
If you complete the course requirements, you’ll become certified as a “Level 1 Guided Energy Medicine™ Practitioner and Spiritual Guide.” (Four year certification is required to be a master ordained minister of our path.)

About Our Director
At age five, our founder, Rose Cole gave her first talk about life after death, the astral world, and Spirit Guide communication to her Kindergarten class.
While other children presented their dolls and toys, she described her past lives in vivid detail, told about how to see and speak with ancestors who’d passed on, and recited languages she had no experience with in this lifetime.
Like so many who face harsh conditions early on, people shut down these abilities that are at first as natural as breathing.
Rose was born into a household rife with trauma and abuse. Her mother and stepfather both had mental illnesses, and were drug addicts. Some of her earliest memories were imprinted with abuse and neglect. Child Protective Service eventually stepped in to remove her from the household, and she became a ward of the state.
She was eventually adopted by her aunt and uncle, an Apache Native American. His name was Albert Bianez – his spiritual name was Bitter Root. In her youth, she watched him transform himself from being a very reactive and abusive man, to becoming a revered spiritual leader by returning to the Old Ways of his Native spiritual lineage.
He grew into a pillar of the community, was a keeper of sacred song, and humble medicine man. Rose had the honor to experience many sacred ceremonies and rites of passage including quantum healing under his guidance. By the end of his life she had witnessed this man enter into a state of consciousness that can only be called “Sainthood”.
Simply being present to witness his evolution and share in his quantum leaps changed the course of Rose’s own life forever.
Rose was shown a path to reclaim her sacred gifts and shamanic abilities that had been lost through conditioning and traumatically suppressed as a child.
For the past twenty-five years of practice using her gifts as a Shamanic facilitator and educator, she —assisted by an esteemed faculty—has been supporting others in learning the medicines of the unseen world, quantum healing tools, and the RE-membrance of the old, sacred ways.

Before the Sacred Oak Academy, I was very much on a spiritual journey, but knowing what I know now, I was very disconnected from spirit and my guidance. I felt ungrounded and didn’t know what I was doing. Plus, I wasn’t comfortable exploring the deeper spiritual realms and my gifts. Fears that I had as a child kept coming up and I didn’t know how to move through them and get into a place of feeling safe.

The biggest benefit I’ve received from the Sacred Oak Academy is being able to move forward without fear. Because I can now tap into guidance, I always know the perfect next step. “Before joining the Sacred Oak Academy, overall life was good, but my focus was not as clear on my path. My gifts and connection to the Divine and guidance were not as strong and I didn’t have a super defined spiritual practice.
Since the Sacred Oak Academy, I’m now more in the flow of life and aware of the Divine and magical parts of life. With more consistent practice, I started to notice and access those parts of myself that I had had glimpses of before, but were now becoming more consistent and easier to access. I now know that Source guidance is always there. Building that metaphorical muscle to be able to tap into that place within myself has been powerful.
The Academy has helped me with the confidence to jump in and start practicing sound healing in more powerful ways than before. I was already doing things intuitively in my sessions, but didn’t have a structure. Having a daily practice to build on has helped me feel stronger in my service to others. “Before the Sacred Oak Academy, my life was chaotic, undisciplined and unfulfilling. It was my best expression of how to live happily before understanding what happiness was, because I was always in my head. I was in my head because I was avoiding my heart, afraid of not belonging. It felt like I belonged somewhere… but didn’t know where that was until I joined the Academy.
Inside the Academy, I experienced tremendous shifts in my life that I could not even fathom. These shifts have shifted me energetically to the degree that my mind can’t conceptualize. However, my life has moved forward in attracting the dreams I didn’t know were even available to me. I now have the family that I always had but never knew. The Academy has brought out the brightest and best parts of me to be able to share with this world. Now I’m able to truly feel, in my body. The footprint I leave behind is much brighter and more vibrant than it ever was before. People have reflected this to me. It’s been amazing to realize the medicine I was carrying in this world has been within me the entire time. I thought I knew who I was but I didn’t. Coming into who I am has been surprising. I feel there are many who think they know who they are, but there’s an extra push needed to step into that role. The Sacred Oak Academy was able to bring that out of me, contrary to what I would have agreed with before.
The Guided Energy Medicine™ that we become certified in during the Academy, is the light that is acceptable in energetic form, coming to this planet from our higher selves. We do not accept all of this light at once because we have spent so long living in the shadows. “Before the Sacred Oak Academy I had been feeling a lot of grief. I had moved away from a job that I was passionate about and was left feeling lost and like I didn’t know my purpose and mission in life. I wanted to stop feeling adrift, to re-gather myself and get healthier with my life choices.
After joining the Sacred Oak Academy, one of the first things that I learned was Divine Communication™ —to connect with my spirit guides. I began to trust my intuition again, and that helped me get back into my life purpose in meaningful ways. I didn’t have to go looking, it came and found me which is part of the magic of this work and The Academy!
One thing that was so powerful… was when Rose took us through a process to discover our Divine Mission. I had written out specific statements and one was to feed people who are hungry. Shortly after the event someone recruited me at a community center and the first thing I did as a director was to partner with a food bank in San Diego! As soon as I wrote those things down just four months later I was doing one of the things in my prayer. Just like that. I didn’t go looking, it came to me.
Around our first Intensive in the Sacred Oak Academy, I got an idea to offer a program to transform fear. What’s so interesting is I got the download and knew the exact person I needed to talk to right before the pandemic hit. In the Sacred Oak Academy, we all support each other around not falling into collective fear. The timing was perfect and transformational for me because I looked back on that and wondered what it would have been like to go through the pandemic without The Academy! We all share and support each other as Lightworkers here. It was the perfect gift at the perfect time for me.
Another one of the biggest gifts I received from The Academy was healing from codependency. Now, I really know how to love myself, which has improved the quality of my life as a whole. Practicing the shamanic energy work alignments that we learn here has also been a big gift.
Being able to experience profound synchronicity and connection with others doing this work, it’s hard to put into words how magical it feels when it’s happening. We are getting to experience the way we are all connected through Spirit.
It was also an incredible experience to sit in ceremony at the intensives. It was a holy, profound, and magical experience.
