Does eating meat make you less conscious? Is eating meat not as good for your health as going vegetarian? This article and free audio below may help you make your decision.
As a holistic nutritionist, there’s one question I get asked more often than anything else: “Should I eat meat or not?” It’s a touchy subject because people are so invested in their position on the matter. They feel as strongly about their views on whether you should eat meat or not as they do about politics or religion, and I’ve even seen people explode into full-blown screaming matches when the topic’s been brought up.
So much of the controversy surrounding eating meat centers on questions like:
- Does meat dull your vibration?
- If you eat meat, does that indicate that you’re less conscious or less evolved?
- Does eating meat mean that you’re less spiritual?
- Is eating meat bad for your health?
These are questions that have gone through all of our heads, including mine, and the answers aren’t as clear-cut as we’d like them to be. Over the years, I’ve thought a lot about eating meat vs. going vegetarian or vegan, and I have a lot to say about the topic when people ask me. It actually comes up a lot in my 10-Week Transformation Program so, I’ve been able to develop a really balanced opinion on the matter. I don’t apply any judgment to anyone – meat eaters, vegetarians or vegans – for their choices, but instead try to guide all of them to be as healthy as possible with the lifestyle and diet they choose.
Personally, I choose to eat small amounts of animal protein that come from high quality sources, and I make sure that any meat I have is either organic free-range or wild. And, what do I think about the spiritual aspects of eating meat? Well, this is something I’ve had to come to terms with, especially after living so many years of my life as a strict vegetarian and even being vegan at times. I’m confident that what I choose to eat is the best decision for my highest good, and I make every effort to ensure that I’m as conscious and respectful as possible.
For those of you who are still on the fence about eating meat or going vegetarian or vegan, I’d like to share a special audio with you that I did with Scott Brandon Hoffman. I call this audio, “The Great Meat Debate,” and in it, Scott and I discuss the different aspects of all three of these diet choices; we talk about eating meat, what the vibrational and spiritual impacts are from ingesting animal protein, and how to make the decision for your self. My husband Nat even makes a guest appearance.
As you know, a big consideration in deciding whether or not to eat meat is making sure that you get enough protein in your diet – especially for those who choose to go vegan or vegetarian. An interesting fact is that after 14 years of practicing holistic nutrition, I’ve found that a large percentage of both meat eaters and vegetarians have digestion issues that keep them from absorbing all but a fraction of the protein that they eat, and they have no idea that it’s even going on. So, regardless of which decision you make, you need to make sure that you do it in a healthful way.
In “The Great Meat Debate” audio, I show you how to optimize your digestive system to maximize the amount of protein you absorb into your body so that you can be sure to get all the nutrients you need, and I provide some helpful information especially for folks who choose to cut meat from their diets.
Here’s to your health!
