“How to Avoid Toxic Chlorine in your Shower and Bath”
Recently, I’ve heard from several people expressing concerns about the amount of chlorine found in the water in our homes.
Chlorine is a toxic chemical present in both our drinking and bath water. It’s harmful to our health and dehydrates our skin. Plus, when we run water at a high temperature, the chlorine is transformed into a breathable gas which infiltrates our lungs … not to mention the damage it does to color treated hair. (Gasp!)
My suggestion for combating the chlorine in your bath is to purchase a filter for your showerhead. Simple to attach, it’s a device that removes a great deal of the chlorine, and softens the water.
The one I have is by Nature’s Shower and I got it for less than $40 at www.thegreenlifeco.com. Using calcium sulfite and carbon, it removes 90% of chlorine, heavy metals, and hydrogen sulfide, and it’s bacteriostatic (inhibits bacterial growth).
I love how my showers aren’t stinky with chlorine and now when I take a bath, I run the showerhead to fill the tub. It may take a little longer, but knowing that I’m not going to be soaking in toxins makes it worth the wait.
As you probably know, part of living holistically is removing as many toxic chemicals from our food, cleaning products, and body care products, but the chlorine in our showers and baths are often overlooked.
Help spread the word… pass it on!

“Leading The Health Care Revolution Towards Holistic Health”
I had tears in my eyes recently while reading a letter that came in from some who had taken one of my programs so I posted it below for all to see.
It’s an inspiring success story from someone who has recently taken my 10 Week Transformation Program. This is a great example of what we are all capable of creating in our own health, and in the world through holistic health. Together we can change the face of healthcare today!
She also has a health question that you may be asking yourself, that I answer below.
This is why I do what I do the work I do and love every bit of it!
~Rose
——————————————————————
Letter From Client:
“Hi Rose, I wanted to check in and say hello. I’ve been using B12 vitamins and zinc, the Adrenacalm, tulsi tea, and the Clearvite is a normal part of my breakfast. I can tell how much they are affecting my body. I’ve even noticed that I crave the tulsi tea (caffeine free). I ordered Adrenastim hoping it will help me get up easier.
My eating is completely different now. I crave healthy clean foods. I’ve really noticed how much cravings are mental as opposed to physical. I’m eating so much more nutrient dense foods. I don’t eat much, but I think my body is getting what it needs, so I don’t need to eat in excess. I eat what my body craves. I take a moment and listen to my body and determine what it’s wanting.
I’m eating a low calorie, high protein, high fat diet. I’m not keeping track of anything, I’m just eating when my body tells me to. I can feel when I’m thirsty as opposed hungry, I can feel when there is still food in my stomach, which helps to not drink water.
I’m rebounding on my trampoline, stretching, and doing some muscle work (abs, arms, squats, whatever I feel like I need). I feel so in tune with my body.
Everything is beautiful.
After getting through 7 days of the cleanse, you don’t want to mess up all your hard work. If people can make it through, it’s a great motivator.
I have two other separate points:
One is that my soon to be husband has seen the difference in me and has gone from being a skeptic to reminding me to order more Clearvite!
Question for you…
I’ve noticed by his body composition that I think he has low testosterone. I wanted to know what you think I can offer him in health information to help balance his hormones.
Additionally… I’m going to be applying to graduate school for nursing this fall. I’ve been researching programs of interest to figure where I want to pursue my career.
Right now what draws me is cardiovascular nursing, but your program and your information has really impacted my career direction.
I want to bring a holistic approach to heart disease research. The one thing that bothers me about modern medicine is the bandaid approach of giving potentially dangerous drugs to fix the symptoms as opposed to the causes.
I want to minor in genomics, which I think will bring some additional support to the finding the cause argument. I want to work in implementing heart disease rehabilitation programs and integrating nutrition, not just as a do this/don’t do that approach, but in really educating people about how the things they put in their body affect them.
I’ve been talking about health and exercise for years to people, but they never seemed so truly interested until I started giving them the kind of scientific information that you give that it makes sense. It makes sense to me, and it makes sense to other people that I talk to.
Education is the key to avoiding disease, and you have inspired me to take a whole new approach to cardiopulmonary medicine. I would like to utilize you as a resource in a few years as I get closer to finishing my education. This is quite a bit out from now, but please think about it.”
Thank you for all that you do,
Jessica
“P.S. my wedding is next week!!! and I’m 2 pounds away from the goal weight I had set for myself a few months ago…and a month ago, I didn’t think that would really happen….now I have a new goal for myself, that I have no doubt that I will reach. It’s incredible. Truly.“

Rose’s Response:
Dear Jessica,
Thank you taking the time to write this, and inspiring us all. My vision is to effect the paradigm of modern Western medicine, and it looks like you will be helping me do just that.
When people ask about my “10 Week Transformation” Program, it’s hard to put into words what it entails. But I think through your story they might get a glimpse of what it’s all about, and the movement that I’m creating.
About your question concerning your husband:
“I’ve noticed by his body composition that I think he has low testosterone. I wanted to know what you think I can offer him in health information to help balance his hormones.”
Here is my response to your question:
There are two important things for men to balance their testosterone levels: Just like with woman, make sure that he is keeping his stress level in check, and that he does have adrenal exhaustion, because that is a sure way to throw off your hormones. If that is the case for him, then you would put him on all the adrenal support stuff from the “10 Week Transformation“. Have him listen to recording #5.
Most men have low testosterone levels because they aren’t getting enough Zinc to make testosterone. Make sure he is taking around 100mg (for an average size person, more for bigger, less for smaller), and that it’s from a really GOOD company. Remember, not all supplimnets are created equal! I love Zn-Zyme Forte (product code #1725) from Biotics Research 800-231-5777 (give them Patient acct # 05TD9354 to open an account).

“How To Fight Back Against Cold Sores & Genital Herpes… All Naturally”
Cold sores suck. You get that tingle in your lip and you know it’s coming. The dread sets in waiting for that
week of pain and embarrassment that comes with the outbreak.
Having a cold sore is a miserable process, but what are you going to do? Western Medicine insists that there is no cure for Herpes Simplex 1, the virus that causes cold sore outbreaks.
With all due respect to the Western Medicine Community, I disagree. Being a holistic Practitioner I believe, and this is just my belief, that the body can heal from ANYTHING.
And, for those of you who carry the Herpes virus, there is hope! Your body is an incredible machine that is capable of fighting and healing any malady that comes its way. It’s just a matter of finding the right key to unlock the chemical changes needed for your biology to heal itself.
Over 60% of the population are carriers of Herpes 1, the virus that causes cold sores and 40% are carriers of Herpes 2, the virus that causes genital herpes. When carriers experience outbreaks of either cold sores or genital herpes, they are displaying outer signs of an inner war being waged between the viral infection that has taken up host and the body’s immune system.
Cold sores and genital herpes outbreaks tend to increase in colder weather because your body is using extra energy just to keep your body’s temperature up, dealing with added stressors that accompany the winter holidays, and coping with the increased sugar intake from all those seasonal treats. This leaves your forces weakened, and opens the door for viral troops to break through and break out.
You can fight back. By taking a holistic approach and analyzing the body’s entire system, you can reinforce your Immunity Army’s troops and kill off the foreign invaders once and for all! Here are some recommendations for doing just that:
Boost your immune system by taking Astragalus. Available in pill form or as a tea, this herb increases your natural T-Cell levels. Your T-Cells are like the Navy SEALs of your immune system, providing a highly intelligent, extensively trained front line of defense against any foreign bacteria or viral invaders. Also, increase your levels of Vitamin C and Zinc as these minerals further reinforce your immunity, equipping your T-Cell warriors with armor and ammunition.
Add a 300mg L-lysine supplement to your daily regimen. An essential amino acid, L-lysine affects the virus’ RNA and shuts down its ability to replicate itself in the body. L-lysine won’t kill the existing virus, but it will inhibit the viral army from adding any more troops. Protein-rich foods are good sources of L-lysine.
Watch out for foods high in L- Arginine. This amino acid will betray your Immunity Army by providing support for the foreign forces. Say no to chocolate, almonds and walnuts – all high in L-Arginine, and say yes to foods like soybeans, spinach and lentils which are low in L-Arginine and high in L-lysine. Finding the proper balance of these two amino acids is essential in wiping out the Herpes Simplex viruses.

Liquid Colloidal Silver
Discover the wonders of colloidal silver! Extensively used to treat maladies prior to the creation of antibiotics, colloidal silver is a bacteria killing machine that can be taken internally or applied directly to the sore outbreaks. Once I had a wart that wouldn’t go away. I used colloidal silver on it for two days, it disappeared and I haven’t seen a sign of it since! It is important to note that colloidal silver doesn’t discriminate and it will destroy your good bacteria as well as the bad, so be sure to reinforce your system with probiotics. I recommend taking Acidophilus in pill form because other methods aren’t as strong and you want to be certain you’re getting enough.
Also, the use of topical oils can be used on outbreaks until the virus is defeated. Essential oils such as lavender oil and lemon
balm are highly effective in soothing Herpes outbreaks and will work well until your Immunity Army ousts the viral invaders. Simply dab a bit of the oil directly onto your sores using a cotton swab and experience instant relief.
Taking this multi-pronged approach and fighting viral infections from every angle is your Immunity Army’s best bet in conquering foreign invaders. You can triumph over Herpes Simplex viruses, all it takes is a little internal biological warfare. Go. Fight. Win!

5 Ways To Relax During Your Trip
You’ve triple-checked your packing list, confirmed your reservations, your suitcase is packed, and after 2 hours with Airport Security, you are finally ready to go.
With all of the planning that goes into taking a trip, it’s easy to be exhausted before the trip even begins!
Try these super easy tips to make sure you’re rested and ready to go when you get there. (or so that you don’t feel like a train hit you when you get back!)
#1: Hydration, Hydration, Hydration!
Drink plenty of water, especially if the trip is a long one. It will not only help you stave off fatigue, but it will keep the muscle aches at bay. The conditioned air of cars, trains & planes will leave your skin and body dried out. Stay away from alcohol, which will increase the dryness even more. Find a good skin tonic and spritz your face to keep your skin healthy. If you are on a plane, make sure you drink at least 8 oz of H2O per hour to ward off dehydration!
#2: Take a Walk
Sitting for long periods of time will not only cause your legs to cramp, but can actually cause a dangerous condition called Deep Vein Thrombosis. If you are in a car, stop at a rest area and walk about a bit. If you are on a plane or train, try to walk up and down the aisles at least once an hour. Make sure to bend and stretch your legs while you sit, and roll your head and shoulders around to avoid a stiff neck.
#3: Ear Plugs!
That might be a bit excessive, or maybe not. Kids, engines & chatty neighbors can wear you out and leave you on edge. Pop your ipod in your ears, or wear some noise-reduction headphones. As soon as I get on the plane, I put in my ear plugs. You will not regret it when you get there with your sanity intact!
#4: Get Lost with Lavender
Lavender is known to help with relaxation. A neck pillow or even a sachet will calm your stress levels and your soul. Or try dropping just a couple drops of lavender essential oil to your palms, cup over your face, and take 3-4 deep breaths.
#5: Book a Spa Date Before You Get There
There is nothing like a good massage to rejuvenate the weary traveler. Think ahead and book the appointment before you get there; busy resort spas often book up fast. It’s well worth the extra cash.
Have a great trip!

“Are You Too Old to Get Healthy?”
A lot of the people who come to me think they might be too *old* to get healthy.
What a load of crap. Is anyone ever too old to do something good for their body? One of the gals on my team just lost her great-grandmother who was 92 years old. This fabulous lady would set up a little screen around her and lay out completely NUDE to get some extra Vitamin D from the sun. Isn’t that awesome? So, when people come to me who are in their 40s and 50s thinking they are too old to do something good for themselves, I make sure they understand it is NEVER too late.
Check out this blog from one of my clients: http://fiftylosingfifty.com/
Chuck is 50, and his goal after we started working together in my “10 Week Transformation” Program was to lose 50 pounds. He’s done an amazing job of losing the weight, and chronicling it so we can all follow along. I absolutely love to see this kind of success out of my clients. I think he’s lost about 40 pounds so far!
Go see how Chuck is doing, and let it inspire you to get your body to its most healthy state – no matter how old you think you are…

No matter what your health status, age or level of fitness you can do something to exercise your body and mind enough to maintain a decent level of immune function, vital organ strength and systemic protection. Even moderate exercise such as walking or swimming for 30 minutes each day, or weight bearing exercise such as gym work are all extremely beneficial.

“How To Stay Healthy While On The Road”
I’m so excited – I’m getting ready to leave on a week-long trip with my boyfriend. We’re headed to Jackson Hole, WY for a wedding. And, I just thought I’d take this opportunity to answer a question that I get a lot – how do you maintain a healthy diet while you are traveling?
Honestly, it isn’t that hard. I just prepare ahead of time. It makes my trip a lot easier, and helps me enjoy myself more. But, what do I prepare?
First, I get my vitamins ready. I take 21 of my vitamin bags (that’s enough for 7 days at 3 per day). If you haven’t seen my system for making single dose vitamin bags, check out the free video here.
I eat five meals a day, and because I’m on vacation I like to have the local cuisine – but I only eat out for 1-2 of those meals, and I still make healthy choices.
Next, I do the same kind of thing as my vitamin bags, but for the shakes I drink for both breakfasts and snacks. I just use the Snack Size Ziploc bags, add I make up enough so that I have enough for the whole week. I just pop the dry mix into a water bottle or cup and I’m good to go. It really helps me stay on track.
And finally, I always pack a bag of raw almonds. Every night I take a cup of almonds and cover them with water. Soaked almonds are hands down my favorite snacks, they’re absolutely are delicious, and they give you so much energy for your trip! Check out this free video for soaked almonds.
If you aren’t a fan of almonds, there are a million other healthy snacks out there – you can find a huge selection at www.TrySunFoods.com
Taking these steps before I even leave really makes a HUGE difference in helping me maintain a healthy lifestyle. I recently went to Italy with a few girlfriends, and two of them gained over 8 pounds and needed a vacation from their vacation when they got home because they were so tired. Because I prepared ahead of time, I didn’t gain a single pound! And I still had energy to spare.

“Holistic Help For Anxiety”
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had to deal with anxiety. And though I’ve learned to deal with it since I’ve grown up – I do still have issues now and then. It mainly hits me at night – just before I go to bed.
I’m lying there trying to go to sleep, and all I can think about are the things I have to do the next day – and if I forget one thing, or if something doesn’t work out right, I could lose my house, or who knows what else. It tends to spiral from there. And then, next thing I know it’s 3am and I am still not asleep.
And the thing is, I know that there isn’t any point in worrying. It doesn’t get me anywhere, and I sure as heck have realized that 99% of the stuff I worry about never ever happens.
And I also know that this kind of behavior does nothing but simulate a “fight or flight” mentality in my body. See, my body (and yours too, when you let anxiety and stress rule your life) can’t tell the difference between real danger and imagined danger. And when your body thinks it is in danger, it goes into panic mode.
The results of your body being in panic mode is that your body produces an excess amount of cortisol which causes your body to store excess fat. It also keeps you from losing weight, and can make you both depressed and excessively tired. None of that is good, right?
So, here’s what I do to counteract this part of my personality.
First, I practice Alternate Nostril Breathing. It helps your body calm down naturally, and tricks your mind into thinking you are “safe”.
Second, I use something I learned from Bryan Tracy (an amazing psychologist). I think about the thing I’m worried about, and I ask myself – worst case scenario, what if it does happen? Will I live? And, yeah, I generally will. The results may suck, but I will live through it, whatever it is.
Also, thing Bryan Tracy says is that you should put whatever you need to into place to make sure whatever it is that you are worried about cannot happen! This may or may not be possible in every case – but you’ve got to do your best. Then you have a clear conscious.
And finally, I keep a notebook and pen by my bed to make sure that I’m able to write down anything that pops up, so I don’t forget to deal with it the next day. Then my mind can relax.
Trust me, anxiety doesn’t do anything good for you. Learn can learn to overcome it, and it may be the missing puzzle piece to losing the extra weight.

You certainly stirred up a lot of activity. What a great idea! Congratulations on your upcoming nuptuals. I’m going with #3.
I vote for #2. Have a wonderful day!
